Retail Sales Assistant -General – Retail Sales Advisor

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Retail Sales Advisor.

A Retail Sales Advisor sells goods and services such as Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), clothing, furniture, and speciality merchandise in a retail or wholesale environment.
• Attend to different types of customers and resolve queries.
• Provide customer service and build customer relationships.
• Sell products in a full-service retail and wholesale sales environment.
• To prepare a learner to operate as a Retail Sales Advisor.
• Attend to different types of customers and resolve queries.
• Provide customer service and build customer relationships.
• Sell products in a full-service retail and wholesale sales environment.
This qualification is registered on the occupational qualifications’ framework within the NQF and consists of the following three components.

• Knowledge modules
• Practical modules
• Workplace modules

Each of these components consist of several modules that you must complete.

Knowledge Modules – 11 credits

• KM-01: Attending to customers and resolving customer queries (4 Credits)
• KM-02: Building customer relationships (3 Credits)
• KM-03: Selling in a full-service retail and wholesale environment (4 Credits)

Practical Skills Modules – 11 credits

• PM-01: Interaction with customers (2 Credits)
• PM-02: Customer queries and complaints (2 Credits)
• PM-03: Customer service and customer relationships (2 Credits)
• PM-04: Sell products to customers (3 Credits)
• PM-05: Advanced selling techniques (2 credits)

Work Experience Modules – 32 credits

• WM-01: Attend to different types of customers (10 Credits)
• WM-02: Providing customer service (8 Credits)
• WM-03: Selling products to customers (14 Credits)
